Sheakley Workforce Staffing in Chantilly, VA, seeks a Construction Safety Manager to provide hands-on safety oversight on a 6-week airport terminal project. This 1099 contractor role requires a strong field presence and coordination with craft personnel, subcontractors, supervision, and project leadership.

Ideal candidates will have OSHA 30 or higher and 5–10 years of construction safety experience, with preference for airport/large commercial projects.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required or higher.
• Minimum 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Airport construction safety requirements knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for terminal construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor subcontractor work activities, material handling operations, and equipment usage.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and airport-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation; maintain required safety documentation.

Duration: 6 Weeks (Start: Immediate Need)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week | Monday-Friday
Additional Schedule Details: Weekend work may be required based on project needs and schedule milestones.
