Job summary

AccruePartners is seeking a hands-on Senior Safety & Risk Manager in the Charlotte area. You will lead safety programs, coordinate with operations, and drive practical risk controls across facilities and field sites.

You will manage workers' comp, incident investigations, training, and OSHA compliance, partnering with HR, insurance carriers, and leadership to deliver measurable safety improvements and cost containment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in occupational safety, risk management, workers' compensation, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk management practices.
  • Experience developing or improving safety programs, policies, or training.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve safety and risk management programs across the organization.
  • Conduct safety inspections and coordinate root-cause investigations.
  • Administer workers' compensation and collaborate with carriers and claims reps.
  • Develop and deliver safety training with operational teams.

  • Support insurance, property, liability, and broader risk activities with brokers.

WHERE IT IS LOCATED
  • On-site in the greater eastern Charlotte area with approximately 30% of the role involving fieldwork at various organizational locations
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead and continuously improve safety and risk management programs, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives across the organization
  • Conduct safety inspections and lead or coordinate root‑cause investigations involving workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and other incidents
  • Administer workers' compensation and other claims while partnering with employees, insurance carriers, case managers, brokers, and claims representatives
  • Develop and deliver safety training and partner with operational teams to educate employees and promote practical, proactive safety practices
  • Monitor OSHA requirements and other applicable regulations, ensuring appropriate reporting, documentation, and corrective actions
  • Support insurance, property, liability, and broader risk management activities, including working with brokers and underwriters as needed
  • Partner with HR and operational leadership on employee investigations, safety concerns, and other sensitive workplace matters
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
  • 3+ years of experience in occupational safety, risk management, workers' compensation, claims, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, workers' compensation, and risk management practices
  • Experience developing or improving safety programs, policies, procedures, or employee training
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and identifying root causes and preventative measures
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with both field-based employees and leadership
  • Experience in a municipal, manufacturing, construction, public safety, utilities, transportation, or other operational environment is highly relevant; relevant safety, risk, OSHA, or HR certifications are a plus
