Project Scope
The Safety Manager will support a complex, multi-phase heavy civil project involving:
- Construction of a brand-new water treatment facility
- Safe demolition of an existing water plant
- Concrete structures
- Underground piping systems
- Water and wastewater infrastructure
- Active construction and demolition site safety oversight
This role is responsible for maintaining OSHA compliance, identifying and mitigating site hazards, supporting field leadership, and helping drive a strong safety culture across all trades on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce OSHA standards, site safety rules, and company safety policies
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and site safety meetings
- Monitor high-risk activities, including demolition, concrete work, excavation, underground piping, and heavy civil operations
- Identify unsafe conditions and work with field leadership to correct issues quickly
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and inspection records
- Partner with project leadership to support continuous safety improvement
Required Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience
- Experience in water/wastewater projects, heavy civil construction, concrete work, underground piping, or demolition
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices
- Ability to work on active construction and demolition sites
- Ability to work 50 to 60 hours per week as needed
- Strong communication, documentation, and hazard recognition skills
