Interstate Mechanical LLC in Phoenix is seeking a Safety Manager who will own, shape, and elevate safety across one of Arizona’s premier mechanical contracting operations.

You will partner with executive leadership to drive accountability, build a modern, data-driven safety program, and lead field teams with a strong on-site presence to prevent incidents and raise performance.

What You’ll OwnLead & Elevate Safety Culture
  • Build a culture where safety isowned by operations—not outsourced to safety
  • Establish clear expectations andhold leaders accountable
  • Influence Superintendents, Foremen, and field teams throughpresence and credibility
Drive Field Performance
  • Maintain a strong field presence (~70%)
  • Identify risks in real time andcorrect behaviors before incidents occur
  • Partner with operations to integrate safety intodaily execution—not afterthoughts
Use Data to Lead, Not Report
  • Leverage tools (including platforms like Samsara) toidentify trends and drive action
  • Develop and track meaningful KPIs that actually influence behavior
  • Turn data intoclear, enforceable accountability standards
Own Incident Response & Prevention
  • Lead investigations that go beyond paperwork—get to true root cause
  • Implement corrective actions thatactually prevent recurrence
  • Set the standard for urgency, accuracy, and follow-through
Build People & Capability
  • Develop field leaders to take ownership of safety
  • Deliver training that ispractical, relevant, and respected in the field
  • Mentor and strengthen the safety function for long‑term success
What We’re Looking For Must-Have
  • 7+ years of safety leadership in construction (mechanical preferred)
  • Strong OSHA knowledge and real-world application
  • Proven ability toinfluence operations and drive accountability
  • A reputation as someone the fieldrespects—not avoids
  • Experience using data to improve performance—not just track it

  • CHST, CSP, or similar certification
