Job summary

Sheakley in Orlando, FL is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a 3+ month assignment on a Walt Disney World project. You’ll provide hands-on safety oversight for structural steel erection and ironworker activities, ensuring OSHA compliance and project safety standards.

You’ll lead field safety with ironworkers, crane operators, and supervision to oversee steel erection, bolting, welding, rigging, and elevated work on a fast-paced site.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
  • Structural steel safety oversight experience
  • Ironworker, steel erection, or structural steel field experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for structural steel erection operations
  • Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside ironworkers and project supervision
  • Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, field observations, and risk assessments
  • Monitor structural steel erection in accordance with drawings and applicable codes
  • Support installation of structural framing, bracing systems, moment frames, and miscellaneous steel
  • Oversee field bolting, welding, and connection activities
  • Monitor crane operations, rigging, hoisting, and material placement
  • Verify proper alignment, leveling, and temporary stabilization of structural steel
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Subpart R requirements, and project safety standards
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), lift plans, permits, and pre-task plans
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain safety documentation, inspections, and compliance records
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project

Job description

Construction Safety Manager

Location: Orlando, FL

Duration: 3+ Months (Start: 8/3)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Pay Rate: $63/hr (Local) | $52/hr (Non-Local)

Per Diem: $150/Day (7 Days Per Week for Non-Local Candidates)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 50-60 Hours Per Week | 1st Shift

Required Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
  • Structural steel safety oversight experience
  • Ironworker, steel erection, or structural steel field experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial or entertainment construction experience
  • Critical lift and crane operation experience
  • Fall Protection Competent Person training
  • Rigging or signal person qualification
  • Experience working on large-scale structural steel projects
