Job summary

Lakeside Foods Inc. is hiring a Safety Manager for our Random Lake, WI location. You will provide proactive leadership to promote our safety culture and work with the Corporate Safety/Loss Control Manager.

Responsibilities include maintaining compliance, leading incident analysis, conducting inspections, and coordinating safety training. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and strong communication across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5 years of safety program leadership experience.
• OSHA training certifications a plus.

As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for providing proactive leadership and expertise that promotes our safety culture, working closely with our Corporate Safety/Loss Control Manager.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local safety regulations regarding OSHA and stateworker’scompensation laws. This includes all required documentation.
• Lead incident analysis process/reporting and manage open claims closure.
• Conduct plant inspections, maintain all inspection records and ensure any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are immediately addressed.
• Organize and ensure initial and ongoing required/related safety training. Participate in new hire orientations.
• Budget, purchase and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.
• Build and maintain the location’s safety management system (SMS).
• Maintain and keep the OSHA 300 log up to date. Post required summary report and complete yearly electronic filing. Send in annual SARA title III report on hazardous chemicals stored on site.
• Ensure that the monthly safety numbers report and safety action correction plan is updated and entered monthly.
• Conduct and document safety observations on a regular basis and perform daily surveillance checks.
• Maintain an on the floor safety presence.
• Participate in Corporate audits, insurance audits, property loss control audits, fire department inspections and OSHA inspections.
• Maintain and update the emergency action plan, PPE hazard assessment, JSAs, SDS sheets, etc.
• Conduct emergency drills.
• Conduct lockout/tagout audits and ensure specific LOTO procedures are accurate and up to date.
• Be involved in new equipment purchases and ensure equipment is properly guarded before ownership takes place.
• Organize and maintain safety team meetings on a regular basis.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and prior experience implementing safety programs or 5 years of experience leading/implementing safety programs is required.
• Familiarity with laws, current practices and trends in the field of safety compliance.
• OSHA 10 Hour / OSHA 30 Hour, First Aid/CPR Certification a plus
  Proven record of implementing safety programs and procedures.
• A strong commitment to safety excellence and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
