Job summary

Southland Industries in New Albany, OH, is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and coordinate safety activities across field operations. You will audit and inspect for regulatory compliance, develop reports for leadership, and steer EHS initiatives to reduce risk.

Responsibilities include implementing the safety manual, guiding programs to comply with OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards, mentoring staff, and participating in recruiting for safety roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline required.
  • 5 years’ experience in Safety, including lead experience.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training preferred.
  • OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety laws and regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and health and safety management systems and platforms.

  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring process for safety roles
