Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the safety team, perform audits, and ensure compliance across field and facility sites in the New Albany, OH area. This role develops EH&S initiatives and reports to management, driving risk reduction and regulatory adherence.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in safety-related fields, 5+ years in safety with leadership, and CPR/First Aid or OSHA certifications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline required.
  • 5 years’ experience in Safety, including lead experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates safety activities for the assigned safety team to ensure that all safety requirements are met in the field/facilities.
  • Conducts safety audits and inspections and recommends correction of hazardous situations for regulatory and company compliance.
  • Develops reports and presentations for safety briefings with company management.
  • Provides strategic direction on initiatives to improve Environmental, Health and Safety performance.
  • Implements company safety manual and ensures compliance by field employees and subcontractors.

Manages and coordinates safety activities for the assigned safety team to ensure that all safety requirements are met in the field/facilities.

  • Conducts safety audits and inspections and recommends correction of hazardous situations for compliance with regulatory, Company and owner requirements for a region or area within the division.
  • Developsreports and presentations for safety briefings with company management.
  • Provides strategic and proactive direction on initiatives that will improve company Environmental, Health and Safety performance through minimizing risks and liabilities.
  • Implements all aspects of company safety manual and ensures that field employees and subcontractors are complying. Ensures consistency, quality and compliance at all locations.
  • Overseesand directs programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Provides guidance for departmental processes and activities, including compliance with safety regulations and the investigation of accidents; provides leadership and recommendations regarding the design, implementation and administration of all safety-relative initiatives, policies, procedures and processes.
  • Provides performance coaching and feedback for direct reports as needed. Participates in annual performance process.
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring process for safety roles
