Job summary

SMG is seeking a Safety Manager in Lebanon, Indiana to lead construction safety efforts on a mega project. You will manage safety teams, ensure program ownership, and partner with project leadership to execute all safety requirements on site.

You will guide safety policy adoption, provide on-site coaching, and drive a strong safety culture in alignment with the client’s vision.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing teams/departments and overseeing program ownership.
• Previous commissioning experience is preferred.
• Previous safety leadership experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course completed.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between client and contractors for safety policies.

• Provide boots-on-ground safety resources for the client.
• Coach contractors on identified gaps and safety expectations.
• Influence proper execution of safety plans and participate in investigations.

The key functions of this position are managing teams/departments and providing oversight of program execution and ownership.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefited Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Manage teams/departments, oversight of program execution, and program ownership
• Support project leadership with safety on a mega construction project
• Partner with the project team to support the proper execution of all local/State/and Federal safety requirements
• Serve as a liaison between the client and contractors, fulfilling operating procedures and safety policies
• Partner with the project team and all trade partners to build and maintain a safety culture aligned with the client's vision
• Conduct safety observations and establish appropriate corrective actions for all unsafe conditions or practices identified during field visits
• Keep stakeholders informed of the safety performance of the contractors working on the project
• Facilitates Incident Reporting Procedures
• Provide safety "boots on the ground" resources for the client to ensure program execution
• Provide coaching to contractors when gaps are identified and communicate safety expectations
• Influence the proper execution of safety plans and participate in event investigations

Requirements

• 10+ years of construction safety experience
• Three-plus years of experience managing teams/departments, overseeing program execution, and managing program ownership
• Previous Commissioning experience
• Degree in Safety or related fields
• Previous safety leadership experience
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
