Job summary

SMG Lebanon, Indiana is seeking a Safety Director to lead safety program execution on a mega construction project. You will manage teams, oversee compliance with local, state and federal safety requirements, and act as a liaison between the client and contractors to uphold safety policies.

This role requires 10+ years in construction safety, proven team leadership, commissioning experience, and OSHA 30, with a degree in Safety or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience managing teams/departments, overseeing program execution, and managing program ownership.
• Previous commissioning experience.
• Degree in Safety or related fields.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.

Responsibilities

• Manage teams/departments, oversight of program execution, and program ownership.
• Support project leadership with safety on a mega construction project.
• Partner with the project team to support the proper execution of all local/State/and Federal safety requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between the client and contractors, fulfilling operating procedures and safety policies.
• Partner with the project team and all trade partners to build and maintain a safety culture aligned with the client's vision.
• Conduct safety observations and establish appropriate corrective actions for all unsafe conditions or practices identified during field visits.
• Keep stakeholders informed of the safety performance of the contractors working on the project.
• Facilitates Incident Reporting Procedures.
• Provide safety "boots on the ground" resources for the client to ensure program execution.
• Provide coaching to contractors when gaps are identified and communicate safety expectations.
• Influence the proper execution of safety plans and participate in event investigations.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefited Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.


• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

• Three-plus years of experience managing teams/departments, overseeing program execution, and managing program ownership


• Previous Commissioning experience


• Degree in Safety or related fields


• Previous safety leadership experience


• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
