Job summary

Gozal Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to join our team as a full-time on-site role based in Hooven, OH. You will develop and implement safety policies, conduct safety inspections, lead driver and staff training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT standards.

You will investigate incidents, analyze root causes, maintain safety records, and coordinate with operations and HR to foster a culture of safety across all terminals. Trucking experience and safety certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience applying safety concepts in transportation or industrial settings.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience in accident investigation with root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT regulations and industry standards.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in trucking or logistics preferred.
• Certification and/or degree in safety advantageous.

Role Description

The Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Hooven, OH. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures that align with industry regulations and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting workplace and fleet safety inspections, leading safety training sessions for drivers and staff, and overseeing compliance with occupational health and EHS requirements. The Safety Manager will investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining safety documentation, coordinating with operations and HR teams, and promoting a culture of safety awareness across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, with experience applying these in transportation or industrial environments.
• Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including developing and delivering safety programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Candidates should possess skills in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation and workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT) is highly beneficial.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and influence teams at all levels.
• Experience in trucking, logistics, or related transportation fields is preferred.
• Relevant certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, or similar) and/or a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Hamilton, OH, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed to terminals or job sites.
