Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Safety Manager for our Colorado beef processing facility. The role ensures compliance with safety laws and leads the Safety and Health Department in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires 5–10 years in a similar role, a Bachelor's degree (preferred), and the ability to work 50+ hours weekly. Responsibilities include investigations, training, program reviews, and data analysis to improve workplace safety.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local, state, or national policies and procedures to promote effective strategies for employee safety.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 5–10 years in a similar safety role.
  • Experience in a beef processing manufacturing environment and fast-paced setting.

Safety Manager

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the facility is in compliance with safety laws and regulations.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  • Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
  • Review plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Manage and develop all the employees in the Safety and Health Department.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, or national policies and procedures to promote effective strategies for the safety of employees.
  • Bachelor Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work in a fast pace environment where beef are processed.
  • Able to work at least 50+ hours a week
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, specifically the beef industry desired.

  • Knowledge/Experience with Cost Management and OpEx tools

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time off: sick leave, vacation and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): eligible after the 1st day of employment including company match which begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of $107,213 - $135,009/yr
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
