Job summary

Industrial Constructors/Managers (ICM) is seeking a knowledgeable Safety Manager to implement and maintain safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and safe operations across all worksites. You will lead audits, investigations, and training to foster a proactive safety culture across projects.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of OSHA standards, CSP or OSHA 500, and the ability to coach teams, review safety documentation, and support inspectors during site visits.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction, or a related field; and/or 5+ years of commercial construction safety experience.
  • OSHA 500 required; CSP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, along with common business and software applications.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, MSHA, EM385, and relevant local/federal safety standards.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and analytical. Strong problem‑solving abilities, proactive in identifying safety risks and ability to mitigate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, provide coaching, and continually foster a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

  • Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Train employees in worksite safety practices, fire prevention, and proper handling of chemicals, equipment, and materials.
  • Conduct regular job site and work area audits to identify and correct compliance violations.
  • Serve as a resource to support safety requirements for all company work sites.
  • Conduct work observations to identify unsafe acts and provide coaching for corrective action.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of required safety documentation and reports.
  • Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspectors during site walkthroughs.
  • Ensure employees follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings to communicate updates and issues.
  • Travel to various jobsites to conduct safety audits.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by leadership.
