Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coordinates safety and health subcontractors, vendors and owner personnel working on company project.
• Oversees safety programs with subcontractors.
• Plans work to minimize risks and manage losses from injuries or damages.
• Directs quarterly on-site safety audits.
• Inspects site, equipment and processes for regulatory and policy compliance.
• Conducts accident investigations and incident reporting.
• Advises on industrial hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring.
• Provides safety training and new hire orientation.
• Distributes weekly safety updates to the Director of Safety.
• Directs toolbox talks.

Essential functions:

• Develops and implements an effective site-specific safety plan in conjunction with the Project Manager and management team
• Manages the coordination of the safety and health subcontractor, vendor and owner personnel working on company project
• Oversees and coordinates project safety programs with subcontractors
• Assists in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages
• Directs quarterly comprehensive on-site safety audits
• Inspects and evaluates the project site, equipment and processes for compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations, as well as company and owner policies and procedures
• Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting for project management
• Accompanies injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation. Ensures all safety protocols are followed
• Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols: performs environmental monitoring
• Provides training and education to company personnel regarding safety requirements, including coordination of the new hire safety orientation programs
• Completes and provides weekly safety update to the Director of Safety
• Direct and attend toolbox talk

Required education and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Construction Management or related field
• OSHA 30-hour trained
• First Aid/CPR certified
• Be highly motivated to continue growing in the safety field
• Proficiency with PC computers and software, including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Procore

Preferred education and experience:

• CHST Preferred
