Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking an experienced Safety & Health Manager to lead site-wide EHS initiatives and foster a proactive safety culture at our Borger, TX facility. You will partner with operations leadership to ensure OSHA compliance, drive continuous improvement, and integrate safety into daily operations.

The role requires 5–7 years of manufacturing EHS experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to lead training programs and investigations.

Job description

Our client, a growing and well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Safety & Health Manager to lead and continuously improve site-wide environmental, health, and safety initiatives. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with operations leadership to create a safe and productive work environment for all employees.


The Safety & Health Manager will serve as the site's subject matter expert on health and safety matters, providing guidance, leadership, and support across the organization. The successful candidate will be passionate about employee safety, possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety standards, and have a proven track record of driving sustainable safety improvements within an industrial setting.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage all site health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, corporate standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct safety audits, inspections, and assessments to identify risks and ensure compliance.

  • Develop and deliver safety training programs while promoting employee engagement and accountability for safety performance.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.

  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, industrial hygiene activities, and ergonomic evaluations.

  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for site and corporate leadership.

  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, and reporting systems.

  • Partner closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate safety into daily operations.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing injuries, improving regulatory compliance, and strengthening overall safety culture.

  • Support emergency preparedness planning, response activities, and employee wellness initiatives as needed.

  • Collaborate with corporate EHS leadership to implement company-wide programs, standards, and best practices.


Required Qualifications:


  • 5-7 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance requirements, and safety management systems.

  • Demonstrated experience leading safety training programs and engaging employees at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, investigation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • OSHA certifications and formal safety training credentials.

  • CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Experience with ISO management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience supporting industrial hygiene programs and risk assessment activities.

  • Professional safety certifications are a plus.
