Job description

Overview

We're hiring a Safety Manager for our heavy-industrial manufacturing operation.

You'll own the safety program end to end: OSHA compliance, audits and inspections, accident investigation, and the training records that prove it all happened. You'll run the Safety Department and manage up to two employees — hiring them, directing their work, and appraising them yourself. The work touches 5S, 5Y, VPP certification, and ISO 45001, and you'll sit on the Safety Committee.

This role reports to senior management and briefs them on regulatory changes before those changes land on the floor. A few backgrounds work here: a career safety professional, or a production manager who picked up safety along the way. What doesn't change is the setting — this is a plant floor job, and you need to have worked in an industrial environment.

Why Join Us
  • Own the program: You direct the Safety Department, not just its paperwork.
  • Build your team: You hire, train, and direct two employees.
Compensation
  • $80k - $95k
Shift
  • 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm
Responsibilities
  • Safety Programs: Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep the facility compliant with county, state, and federal regulations.
  • Audits & Inspections: Oversee safety audits and inspections across the facility.
  • Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and safety concerns, then recommend corrective changes.
  • Training Programs: Build and maintain employee and supervisor safety training.
  • Hazard Resolution: Work with supervisors to identify and correct hazards.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency response and remediation planning.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, direct, and appraise two employees.

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, safety engineering, or occupational health and safety — strongly preferred
  • ISO 45001 implementation or audit experience
  • VPP certification process experience
  • 5S and 5Y experience
  • Production or operations management background
  • Experience applying statistics to incident data

You do not need to have spent your whole career in safety. Production and operations managers who were trained into safety along the way are a fit here.
