Job summary

Hawaiian Electric is seeking aSafety Professional for Oahu to lead safety programs and drive a zero-incident culture across operations. You will coordinate with management, develop training, and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding teams toward safer work environments.

Responsibilities include policy development, incident investigations, and collaboration with operations to implement best practices. Travel to multiple field sites may be required, with emphasis on leadership and training

Qualifications

  • Three to five years in maintenance/repair in a power plant or industrial environment, or operations in a power plant or industrial environment, or transmission and distribution.
  • Several years (3-5) industrial safety experience.
  • A few years (one to three years) of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Hawaii driver’s license and CDL; travel to field sites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety compliance with all applicable requirements and coach staff.
  • Inspect workplaces and develop/update safety programs and procedures.
  • Develop safety policies and disseminate information to reduce risks.
  • Oversee training programs and maintain attendance records.
  • Monitor safety activities and develop corrective action plans.
