A food manufacturing organization is seeking a Safety Leader to lead plant safety programs and ensure a safe, accident-free work environment at a food processing plant. He/She will be responsible for leading and supporting the development and implementation of facility-wide health and safety programs and delivering training in collaboration with the onsite and corporate teams.
The Role
- Manage all aspects of health and safety programs and regulations at the plant;
- Promote an accident-free work environment by developing programs that will train, monitor, and assure a safe workplace;
- Assist in accident investigations and prepare accident reports required by regulatory agencies;
- Conduct inspections and audits at the plant and at other nearby facilities to identify potential accident hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures accordingly.
The Candidate
- A Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of related experience, with demonstrated experience leading the health and safety function;
- A consistent track record of driving the health and safety agenda for a safe workplace at a plant level with at least a few hundred employees;
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, reporting, and record-keeping requirements;
- Supervisory experience with successfully leading and managing direct reports is preferred.
