Job summary

DCS Contracting, a growing heavy civil contractor in Arizona, is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our safety program across all projects. You will work closely with field leadership and senior management to ensure a proactive safety culture and compliant, safe operations.

The role owns the safety program end-to-end—from strategic planning and policy development to field support, training, and day-to-day execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of construction safety management experience.
• Experience developing Site-Specific Safety Plans and corporate Health and Safety Plans.
• Experience assessing training needs, preparing training materials, and leading training classes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence field leaders, earn credibility with crews, and positively hold others accountable while maintaining strong working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, continuous improvement, and daily execution of the company-wide safety program.
• Champion a proactive safety culture by building partnerships with field leaders and project teams.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, document observations, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Partner with project teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project-specific plans.
• Review and improve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to strengthen hazard recognition and mitigation.
• Participate in project planning and operations meetings to provide practical safety guidance.
• Lead the Safety Committee and drive initiatives focused on engagement and incident prevention.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
