Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety programs on our heavy civil projects. You will develop site-specific plans, perform inspections, and lead safety trainings for field teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in safety or construction management and at least 3 years of heavy civil safety experience, with knowledge of OSHA standards and strong leadership. This role is outdoors, fast-paced, and requires clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• OSHA regulations knowledge and other applicable safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct site inspections and audits for regulatory compliance.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and trainings for project personnel.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases.
