Job summary

Cindavi in Thorp, Wisconsin is seeking a hands-on Safety Manager to lead the next chapter of our safety program. This is not a desk job; you will engage across multi-shift operations, assess risks, and craft a practical roadmap for lasting improvements.

You will build relationships, champion a proactive culture, and drive critical safety initiatives across the site. A background in manufacturing safety with OSHA experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related discipline preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
• Proven ability to improve safety culture through trust, coaching, collaboration and influence.
• Practical experience with OSHA compliance, investigations, audits, risk assessments, training, and corrective action management.
• Visible floor presence and ability to build relationships across multiple shifts.
• People-first mindset with judgment to intervene when conditions create risk.
• Experience in wood products manufacturing, multi-shift operations, or building a safety program is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Serve as safety subject matter expert and champion a proactive, people-first culture.
• Assess current programs, risks, and gaps; build a prioritized six-to-twelve-month improvement plan.
• Lead job hazard analyses, risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Own critical programs such as lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, hazard communication, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, and hearing conservation.
• Build practical training, toolbox talks, safety committee routines, and engagement initiatives across all shifts.
• Track near misses, TRIR, DART, training completion, and corrective action closure to guide improvements.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and HR on equipment changes, emergency preparedness, workers' compensation, and regulatory readiness.
