Walsh Group is seeking a Safety Division Intern for projects in Chicago, IL, Racine, WI, and La Porte, IN. The intern will assist the on-site safety team and learn Walsh safety programs while gaining hands-on experience in project engineering and field management.

The 12-week program offers relocation allowance if needed, exposure to multiple career paths, and potential for full-time opportunities after graduation. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Ability to complete a 12-week work schedule is preferred.
• Relocation may be required; if willing to relocate you are eligible for a living allowance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field safety walks.
• Assist safety manager with first day safety orientations for new employees.
• Complete accident and incident reports.
• Oversee safety and health of personnel on company jobsites.
• Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors to ensure policy understanding and implementation.

OVERVIEW

Walsh is currently seeking Interns for our Safety Division on projects located in Chicago, IL, Racine, WI, and La Porte, IN.

Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands‑on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Safety Intern will support and work with the on-site safety manager and safety staff to promote and manage Walsh Safety Programs. The Safety Intern position will be for a minimum of 12 weeks. The Safety Intern will learn about multiple career paths in our company and will be trained to become a full‑time employee after college graduation. Some duties and responsibilities include:

• Participate in field safety walks
• Help safety manager with first day safety orientations for new employees
• Complete accident and incident reports
• Oversee safety and health of personnel working on company jobsites
• Help safety manager coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, ensuring company safety policies and procedures are understood and implemented

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred
• The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred
• Specific roles may require relocation. If you are willing to relocate you are eligible for a living allowance.
• Salary range: $21-$24/hr. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, location, and business needs.
