Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to contribute to the Project Safety Program, develop site safety policies, and monitor field activities for regulatory compliance. You will help implement corrective actions and safety metrics while supporting training and audits across projects.

The role requires willingness to travel and relocate as needed, with exposure to diverse weather and site conditions. A safety-focused degree pursuit and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program and developing site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations, client and company policies.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and help implement safety performance metrics.
• Review project work plans for safety conformance and assist in safety program audits, coaching and onsite training.
• Travel and relocation may be required to support projects.
