Granite Construction Company in Anchorage seeks a safety-focused intern to assist in administering the accident prevention program for an assigned location. You will help promote safety compliance, participate in inspections, and support training sessions while coordinating with regulatory agencies as needed.

The role requires ongoing communication skills, the ability to mentor others, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Safety or Occupational Health.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach, mentor and lead.
• Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly under pressure and deadlines.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Availability and willingness to travel frequently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Promote compliance with the safety program and accident prevention efforts.
• Assist in development and implementation of safety programs.
• Perform and document jobsite inspections with hazard recognition and corrections.
• Assist in safety meetings and training programs to communicate policies.
• Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance.
• Assist in developing job hazard analyses for major work phases.
• Assist with investigation and records of third party, asset loss, and workers' compensation claims.
