Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Charlotte, NC seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Intern to support safety programs on construction projects and office sites.

You will assist in implementing safety initiatives, report hazards, coordinate training sessions, and help review subcontractor safety plans under supervision. Enrolled in a related degree with at least one year completed coursework is required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 1 year completed education.
• Proactive, able to learn quickly, and capable of working independently and in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing Building L.I.F.E. and safety programs on construction projects or office locations.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices with emphasis on imminent danger.
• Coordinate safety duties for safety committees, preplanning meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Assist with safety training sessions, orientations, and meetings.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with company policies.
