Job summary

Hensel Phelps is offering a Safety Intern position to gain hands-on exposure to construction safety programs and compliance. You will support the Safety Manager and project team, learn regulatory requirements, and assist in inspections, audits, and safety trainings on active jobsites.

The internship provides an extended opportunity to evaluate fit for a future career with Hensel Phelps, with potential credit toward graduation depending on your school program.

Qualifications

• Safety internship to gain understanding of construction process and safety program.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and effective implementation.
• Exposure to planning, monitoring, and safety training on site.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge of the Safety & Health Program.
• Learn applicable safety regulations and how to implement them.
• Understand the construction process and safety considerations on site.
• Assist the Project Superintendent with safety orientations and training.
• Be visible in the field for safety observations.
• Assist in developing and reviewing Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Aid in safety audits and investigations of accidents or near misses.
• Attend safety courses and construction-related trainings.
• Perform periodic inspections (extinguishers, ladders, first aid kits).
