A leading organization is seeking a Safety Supervisor to oversee fire and safety system maintenance across Commonwealth buildings. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and compliance with safety standards. Candidates must have relevant experience and training, including obtaining necessary licenses within the first year.
In this role, you will perform supervisory duties including establishing goals and timeframes, planning, assigning, monitoring work, approving leave, preparing performance evaluations (EPRs), conducting on-the-job training, resolving disputes, and implementing collective bargaining agreements for the day shift.
The work involves maintaining fire and sprinkler systems in Commonwealth-owned buildings across the Capitol Complex and outlying areas, ensuring activity and safety reports are complete and accurate, and overseeing maintenance of buildings and fire detection equipment. You will evaluate new fire and safety techniques and equipment, recommending updates to meet current standards.
Effective communication is essential as you establish and maintain relationships with agency staff, fire and safety representatives, Capitol Police, security personnel, service providers, contractors, and local fire departments.
