McCormick & Company is hiring a Safety, Health, & Environmental Technician at the Dallas Plant in Irving, TX. The role focuses on reducing occupational risk through procedures and engineering controls, reporting to the SHE Manager, and supporting Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Safety/IH, Environmental, Chemistry, or Engineering, or 5–7 years of EHS experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of Safety, Health, and Environment management in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe practices and injury/illness prevention processes.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and McCormick Health & Safety policies.
• Lead the SHE Pillar and Safety Functional Leader program, including incident reviews and action plans.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends and root causes.
• Create job aids, one-point lessons, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide site-specific safety training as needed.

Position Overview

The Safety, Health, & Environmental Technician will provide support facilitating the reduction of occupational risk by the implementation of procedures and engineering processes aligned with the Global McCormick Health & Safety policy. This person will be dedicated to ensuring safe practices, obtaining injury reduction, implementing proactive safety processes, increasing safety awareness, and developing and maintaining robust safety training programs.

The role would report to the SHE Manager and support job duties and tasks that cover Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Technical resource, ensuring safe practices, injury/illness prevention processes, risk management by conducting risk assessments, and job safety analyses on plant equipment.

Facilitate compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements, application of McCormick Health and Safety policies and procedures, establishment of best practices for the plant/facility.

Develop and direct the SHE Pillar and Safety Functional Leader program in a manner that ensures Injury/Incident review boards, leading action plans, training, and root cause analysis are conducted appropriately.

Analyze incident data to identify trends in injuries, illnesses, accidents, or other hazards.

Review and create job aids, one-point lessons and standard operatingprocedures.

Conduct relevant training depending on site specific needs.

Required Qualifications

• Level of Education: Associate degree in related field (Safety/IH, Environmental, Chemistry or Engineering) or 5-7 years EHS experience in lieu of degree. High School diploma or GED Certification and/or Licenses Safety Functional Leader preferred
• Experience: functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen: Minimum of 2 years of Safety, Health, and Environment management in manufacturing.
• Interpersonal Skills: leadership, interactions, communication, influence: Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.
• Ability to work with minimal direction.

Other Skills And HPO Competencies

• PAPR/Respirator use required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOP's and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of contractors, staffing agency employees and McCormick employees
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Flexibility in reacting to changes throughout the day. Must be able to initiate change and assist others in working through changes. Ability to work off-shifts.
