Job summary

Acadian Contractor, Inc. is seeking a Hydro Technician to perform hydrostatic testing, inspection, and verification of piping systems and components.

You will prepare systems, operate testing equipment, and document results while maintaining sharp safety focus. The role requires reading drawings and test procedures, working around pressurized equipment, and collaborating with supervisors and quality personnel to communicate deficiencies and ensure compliance with project specs and safety

Qualifications

• 1.1. Experience with piping systems, hydrostatic testing, or industrial construction/fabrication preferred.
• 1.2. Knowledge of piping components, valves, flanges, fittings, hoses, and pressure-testing equipment.
• 1.3. Ability to read piping drawings, test packages, procedures, and pressure-test documentation.
• 1.4. Ability to safely work around pressurized systems and equipment.
• 1.5. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• 1.6. Ability to work outdoors and in industrial environments.
• 1.7. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• 1.8. Commitment to safe work practices and proper use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrostatic pressure testing of piping systems, lines, vessels, and related components.
• Prepare piping systems for testing, including installing test blinds, caps, plugs, hoses, gauges, valves, and other testing equipment.
• Verify piping systems are properly isolated and prepared prior to introducing test pressure.
• Operate hydrostatic test pumps and associated testing equipment.
• Fill, vent, pressurize, monitor, and safely depressurize piping systems per procedures.
• Monitor pressure gauges and test equipment for abnormal changes or leaks.
• Inspect piping, welds, flanges, valves, fittings, and connections for leaks or deficiencies.
• Maintain safe work distances around pressurized piping and equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting leaks, pressure loss, or equipment issues during testing.
• Perform line flushing, draining, and removal of test water after testing.
• Ensure test equipment is inspected and maintained; verify calibration.
