Job summary

Sims Metal, a global leader in metal recycling, seeks an EO operator for on-site Kentucky operations. You will operate frontend loaders, a 12k forklift or smaller with rotator, bobcat and skid steer, perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections, and maintain equipment and work areas to high safety standards.

Responsibilities include loading trucks and barges, maintaining equipment, and supporting overall production with a focus on zero-harm safety and efficient operations at our Richmond site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Minimum of 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Safely operate machinery under the direction of the shift supervisor or production manager. Load trucks, pile scrap material, load/unload barges and rail cars.
• End of shift clean up and equipment inspection.
• Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality.
• Commit to the overall safety of the work environment.
• Sweeps and shovels residual waste from process.
• Other duties may be assigned.
