Job summary

Sims Limited, a global leader in metal recycling, is seeking a skilled material handler to operate a loader, front end loader, and forklift to unload customers and load trailers for scrap materials. You will inspect incoming material and grade it accordingly, contributing to efficient throughput.

The role emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and reliable equipment operation, with pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years’ experience working Heavy Equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to comfortably wear a respirator.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, & memos.
• Ability to speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer’s trucks/vehicles.
• Starts engine, shift gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Perform & maintain general housekeeping.
• Responsible for customer & employee safety in and around work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
