Job summary

Sims Metal (Sims) is seeking a skilled equipment operator to manage frontend loaders, forklifts, bobcats, and skid steers while adhering to safety regulations and golden rules. You will perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections and maintain daily upkeep of equipment and work areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment
• Safely operate machinery under the direction of the shift supervisor or production manager. Load trucks, pile scrap material, load/unload barges and rail cars
• End of shift clean up and equipment inspection
• Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
• Commit to the overall safety of the work environment
• Sweeps and shovels residual waste from process
• Other duties may be assigned
