Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a production worker to support line operations while ensuring product safety and quality across assigned duties. This role emphasizes a safe working environment and adherence to Silgan safety policies.

You will monitor for defects, pack at standard rates, operate a punch, load conveyors and flamers, and assist with labeling, carton making, and general housekeeping. Flexibility to perform other duties as needed is required.

Responsibilities

• Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality across duties listed.
• Promote a safe working environment
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
• Monitor ware for quality defects and inform operator/coordinator
• Pack at standard rate
• Operate a punch
• Load conveyors and flamers
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine
• Remove scrap from around the line
• Grind and pull plastic as needed
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned
• Initial and date box labels
• Make out unit tickets
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
• Ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials
