Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily environmental health and safety activities for equipment installation, piping modifications, and construction projects.
• Conduct routine field observations, safety inspections, and jobsite audits to ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements.
• Participate in pre-task planning meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety briefings.
• Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safe work practices, permits, and established procedures.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
• Promote a culture of safety excellence while maintaining strong field presence and communication with all stakeholders.

Our client is seeking a Safety Representative to support equipment installation, process piping, and industrial construction activities within an active manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with construction, facilities, operations, and contractor teams to promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance throughout project execution.

The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting construction, manufacturing, chemical processing, refinery, pharmaceutical, energy, or other highly regulated industrial environments with a strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), process safety, and field safety operations.

Responsibilities

• Support daily environmental health and safety activities for equipment installation, piping modifications, and construction projects.
• Conduct routine field observations, safety inspections, and jobsite audits to ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements.
• Participate in pre-task planning meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety briefings.
• Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safe work practices, permits, and established procedures.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.
• Support work involving process piping systems, utilities, production equipment, and system tie-ins.
• Verify Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are properly implemented and followed during maintenance, installation, and startup activities.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
• Partner with project teams, facilities personnel, and contractors to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Promote a culture of safety excellence while maintaining strong field presence and communication with all stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of safety experience supporting industrial construction, manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, refinery, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or similar environments.
• Experience supporting projects involving hazardous energy control and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety standards, and safe work practices.
• Experience working around process systems, piping, utilities, manufacturing equipment, or production environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence safe behaviors in fast-paced construction and operational settings.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting semiconductor, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, refinery, petrochemical, chemical plant, or other highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling, chemical safety programs, and process safety practices.
• Experience supporting equipment installation, tool installation, commissioning, startup, or industrial construction projects.
• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification preferred.
• Experience working with contractors and multiple trades in active operating facilities.
