Job summary

Kodiak Construction Recruiting & Staffing invites applications for a Safety Coordinator / Field Safety Representative on Data Center projects. The role partners with project management, craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients to identify hazards and improve safety performance.

You will lead safety meetings, conduct inspections, review analyses and permits, and mentor staff to sustain a proactive safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 3 years in construction, industrial, refinery, petrochemical, power or oil and gas safety
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
• Experience conducting field audits, safety inspections and incident investigations
• Strong communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to travel to project locations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project locations

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety inspections, audits and jobsite observations
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and help implement corrective actions
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, site orientations and safety training
• Review Job Hazard Analyses, Activity Hazard Analyses and safe-work permits
• Monitor high-risk activities including confined space entry, LOTO, hot work, excavation, critical lifts, fall protection and energized electrical work
• Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses and property-damage events
• Prepare incident reports, root-cause analyses and corrective-action documentation
• Track corrective actions and verify completion
• Conduct subcontractor safety evaluations and compliance reviews
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection logs and site reports
• Participate in client safety meetings, audits, emergency planning and drills
• Assist project leadership with site-specific safety plans
• Coach and mentor employees to promote a proactive safety culture

Pay: $35-40 per hour, depending on experience

Per Diem: $150 per day available

Schedule: 13 days on / 1 day off

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator / Field Safety Representative to support Data Center projects. This position will work closely with project management, craft personnel, subcontractors and clients to identify hazards, improve safety performance and ensure compliance with OSHA, company and site-specific requirements.

What You Will Do

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 3 years of construction, industrial, refinery, petrochemical, power or oil and gas safety experience
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
• Experience conducting field audits, safety inspections and incident investigations
• Strong communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to influence safe behaviors at all levels of an organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project locations
• Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders and scaffolds, work outdoors and wear required PPE

An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management or a related field is preferred. OSHA 30 Construction, CHST, CSP, STSC, OHST or First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are strongly preferred. Experience with ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta or other contractor-management systems is also a plus.
