Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing is seeking a Safety Specialist to innovate and improve safety systems across assigned areas. You will design and implement safety processes aligned with daily operations and strategic goals, driving excellence in safety performance.

The role requires a degree in engineering or related safety field, up to 4 years of safety experience, and strong communication across teams. Overtime and travel may be required; a broad benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology or other safety and health program or equivalent related experience.
• Interpersonal relationship skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Detailed understanding of major health and safety regulations and injury/illness prevention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead department and support Plant themes and complex improvement projects.
• Proactively cycle PDCA to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure continuous safety improvements.
• Support department leaders and safety committees to achieve a strong safety culture.
• Interpret and apply Honda Safety Management manual and policies in PDCA cycles.
• Perform complex safety compliance activities including risk assessments and ergonomic studies.
• Present and report safety activities and results with data analysis and trending.
• Develop personal technical expertise and professional skills.
