Job summary

Samtec in New Albany, IN on-site Safety Specialist will assist the Corporate Safety Manager with safety and environmental initiatives, ensuring operations are safe, healthy, and compliant with regulations. You will perform audits, update policies, conduct training, investigate incidents, and maintain ISO 14001 compliance while helping drive continuous improvement across facilities.

Strong communication with production teams, supervisors, and regulators is essential as you coordinate risk

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an environmental and/or safety coordinator.
• Strong written and verbal communication with regulatory agencies.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds and sit/stand for 90 minutes.
• Must adhere to safety rules and wear protective gear.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with local/state/federal safety regulations.
• Coordinate safety training with Learning & Development.
• Investigate incidents and maintain safety documentation.
• Maintain safety equipment and MSDS management.
• Prepare for regulatory inspections and audits.
• Support environmental initiatives (air, wastewater, stormwater).
