Job summary

Hunt Companies, Inc. is seeking a Safety and Environmental Specialist to implement and uphold the company's safety program, conduct regulatory inspections, and coordinate corrective actions for hazardous materials issues across sites in Texas.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and administering safety programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOE regulations and standards.
• Experience performing mold, lead, and asbestos inspections and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, coordinating, administering, maintaining, and resolving a comprehensive safety and health program.
• Assess new regulations impacting project operations and advise management on OSHA/EPA/DOE requirements.
• Identify hazardous conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Collect, consolidate, and ship hazardous and universal wastes per regulations.
• Conduct regulatory inspections and prepare required reports.
• Advise staff on identifying hazards and ensuring compliance actions are followed.
• Respond to inquiries from leadership and coordinate with environmental safety teams.
• Monitor regulatory updates related to hazardous materials and conduct periodic equipment/site inspections.
• Provide training and surveillance inspections as directed.
