Job summary

Hexcel Corporation is seeking a Safety Engineer at our Kent, WA location to develop and implement health and safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the EHS team in maintaining ISO 45001 systems. The role emphasizes reducing risk, promoting a strong safety culture, and guiding incident investigations.

The position requires a BS in Safety/Env Eng, 2+ years in industrial manufacturing, and preferred CSP/CIH credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of related experience as a safety coordinator or engineer in industrial manufacturing facility.
• Strong technical and oral/written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or related software.
• Professional credential such as CSP, ASP, GSP, or CIH preferred.
• Ergonomics experience preferred.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or 45001 preferred.
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation requirements and best practices for self-insured companies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and audit safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and HSMS.
• Assist in ISO 45001 management systems and safety culture initiatives.
• Provide guidance on safety issues and risk reduction.
• Develop and maintain job hazard analyses (JHA) for processes.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Communicate safety information and support safety training.
• Support equipment/process pre-start-up reviews.
• Assist with workers compensation claims and ergonomic assessments.
