Job summary

NREP in Philadelphia is seeking a Safety Specialist to support a major civil engineering project. You will work with project leadership, field teams, and subcontractors to uphold high safety standards on site.

The role focuses on implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and delivering training while ensuring OSHA compliance. A strong communicator with 0–3 years of EHS experience and OSHA 30 is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a safety-related field.
  • 0–3 years of EHS/Safety experience within construction.
  • OSHA 30 required; ASP/CSP or similar certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with field teams and project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of site health and safety programmes.
  • Partner with project leadership and field teams to maintain high safety standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and employee coaching.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, subcontractors, and project leadership.
  • Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across the project.
