Job summary

Corning seeks a Safety Engineer to join the Environmental Health & Safety team. You will design, implement, and sustain workplace safety and environmental programs aligned with OSHA/ISO standards and Corning requirements, partnering with site leadership to build a strong safety culture.

You will lead hazard identifications, risk assessments, training programs, and safety metrics to drive continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field required.
• 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with EH&S programs including fall protection, confined space entry, machine guarding, powered industrial vehicles, crane and hoist, ergonomics, electrical safety.
• Experience conducting safety risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training for site personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EH&S action plans and compliance procedures aligned with OSHA/ISO standards.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures; coach employees and leadership.
• Design and facilitate EH&S training programs; maintain EH&S metrics and KPIs; conduct trending analyses.
• Ensure the Emergency Response Plan remains current and oversee safety program compliance.
