Job summary

Corning is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Supervisor to lead strategic safety programs for the Engineering Services organization in Charlotte, NC. You will design, implement, and maintain EH&S programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, DOT/RCRA, and ISO standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee safety.

The role involves developing annual EH&S plans, conducting risk assessments, delivering training, investigating incidents, and partnering with.remote engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, related engineering, or physical sciences.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience including safety program development, risk assessment, incident investigation, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT/RCRA regulations; experience aligning programs to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Hands-on experience with fall protection, confined space entry, powered industrial vehicles, machine guarding, ergonomics, and electrical safety programs.
  • Experience designing and facilitating EHS training courses for site personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual EH&S plans including short- and long-term goals, objectives, targets, training, audits, to reduce injuries and drive improvement.
  • Analyze, develop, and implement actions to control EH&S risks for regulatory compliance and company initiatives.
  • Establish processes for hazard identification, risk assessment, PPE, and hazardous energy control.
  • Evaluate, develop, and conduct EH&S training to ensure legal and company requirements are met.
  • Investigate incidents and implement actions to reduce recurrence risk.
  • Provide guidance to remote engineering stakeholders to build a safety culture aligned with Corning values.
  • Perform trending analysis to improve EH&S performance and develop reports.
  • Organize internal audits and inspections; ensure Emergency Response Plan stays current.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and health regulations; review literature.
  • Manage Site Hazardous Materials via Warehouse Dangerous Goods Program and DOT/RCRA regulations.
