Job description

As a Safety Engineer at Schneider Electric, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a robust Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) department for our rapidly expanding Modular Data Center Business. In this dynamic environment, you will support the development and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs by assisting in the resolution of safety issues and driving improvement initiatives. This role helps deploy EHS policies and standards across the organization and leads prevention‑focused projects aimed at reducing workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and associated costs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluating data trending, and providing data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.
  • Support the implementation of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures. Identify location-specific requirements for each area and participate in the development of related programs and policies.
  • Assist in developing training programs and conduct training to comply with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives.
  • Coordinate incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Conduct environment, health and safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments, compliance audits or loss prevention audits.
  • Actively participate in the site Safety & Ergonomic committee and Emergency Response team.
  • Participate in the site’s Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities.
Reporting

This is an onsite role reporting to the EHS Manager and supporting our West Chester, OH facility. During the initial training phase, you will work a standard Monday–Friday schedule. After training, EHS has coverage from Mondays - Saturdays so your schedule will be determined by the EHS team.

Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Environment, Health, and Safety Management or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a designated environment, health, and safety position, with experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to successfully work independently and communicate with senior management.
  • Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of environment, health and safety guidelines and regulations, a good working knowledge of health and safety engineering.
  • Ability to understand and apply Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must have ability to communicate through all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in electrical safety, training and ergonomics a plus.
