Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence is seeking a Safety & Emergency Preparedness Program Manager in Oakland, CA. The role leads safety efforts across CEI facilities, clinics, transportation, and home care, ensuring alignment with OSHA, CMS, and state regulations to promote zero harm and high reliability.

Responsibilities include developing emergency response structures, deploying information systems like Everbridge, and driving continuous safety program improvements across all care settings.

• Strong oral and written communication, training, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CHRO and leaders to design and implement a standardized emergency management structure and training.
• Ensure effective deployment of emergency information through Everbridge.
• Lead the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of CEI’s Safety Program.
• Conduct regular Environment of Care rounds across all PACE locations to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Chair the Safety Committee and participate in internal audits (CMS, DHCS).
• Assess hazards and develop corrective action plans to prevent incidents.
• Establish and enforce OSHA, CMS, DHCS and CDPH safety policies and procedures.
