Job summary

Nationwide Transportation Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking a Safety Coordinator/Recruiter to develop and enforce safety programs for drivers, conduct inspections, and recruit and onboard new drivers to support a safe, compliant and efficient operation.

You will collaborate with management to minimize risks, deliver safety training, manage safety records, and report on safety metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety best practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments including Hours of Service.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training and orientation programs for employees.
• Maintain safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend improvements to reduce risks.
• Collaborate with supervisors and department managers to address safety concerns.
• Track safety metrics and prepare reports for management.
