Job summary

City of Laredo is seeking a solid waste collector to efficiently complete assigned routes while delivering courteous citizen service. You will drive an automated truck, manage bins, and stay vigilant for safety hazards in a busy urban environment.

The role requires two years of truck driving and a Texas CDL-B, with a commitment to safety and city policies. Work is primarily on-site with outdoor conditions and regular safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• At least two years of truck driving experience.
• Valid Texas CDL-B required; CDL-A desirable.

Responsibilities

• Learn and memorize routes serving 1,200–1,300 residents and drive safely.
• Operate automated truck with hydraulic arm and empty/collect bins.
• Log WebQa/311 work orders, report violations to customer service.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Attend safety meetings and comply with city policies.
