Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc is seeking a Transfer Station Laborer to perform general labor tasks at a transfer station, including yard cleanup and vehicle operation. You will assist customers, inspect loads for safety, and help recycle materials for proper disposal.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work well in a team, with strong safety awareness and the physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with unloading trash.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable materials to ensure safety for customers and employees.
• Pull recyclable material to be brought to the MRF and properly managed.
• Maintain the facility by sweeping floors, cleaning, and picking up around stations, mowing grass, moving snow, and scraping ice.
• Participate in training and other opportunities to learn about the company and its products, services, and values.
