Primary Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Support development, implementation, and maintenance of written safety programs and SOPs.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Assist with regulatory recordkeeping including OSHA logs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in incident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
- Identify root causes and assist with corrective action development.
- Track corrective actions through completion.
- Assist with trend analysis and injury prevention initiatives.
- Maintain incident records and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Safety Training
- Coordinate and deliver new hire safety orientation.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training for employees and supervisors.
- Maintain training records and ensure required certifications remain current.
- Support contractor orientation and visitor safety requirements.
Employee Engagement
- Serve as visible safety resource on the production floor.
- Encourage employee participation through hazard reporting and safety observations.
- Support Safety Committee meetings and employee engagement activities.
- Support Cardinal CT’s Voluntary Protection Program initiatives through employee engagement, committee participation, documentation, and continuous improvement projects.
Documentation & Administrative Support
- Maintain safety files, inspection records, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with SharePoint document management and electronic recordkeeping.
- Update safety metrics, dashboards, and reports.
- Coordinate PPE inventories and safety supply ordering.
- Utilize safety management software (Velocity or similar) to document incidents, hazards, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Assist with exposure monitoring and industrial hygiene activities.
- Participate in ergonomic evaluations and risk assessments.
- Support contractor safety and special projects.
- Perform routine workplace hazard assessments and follow-up inspections.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred
- OSHA 30
- Experience with Cal/OSHA compliance
- Experience conducting investigations or inspections
- Experience developing or maintaining safety programs, SOPs, or compliance documentation
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, or similar document management systems
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
- 2+ years of safety, manufacturing, industrial, emergency services, military, or related experience
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel (approximately 5-10%) may be required for training, safety meetings, audits, or to support other Cardinal Glass locations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as needed.

- Ability to spend extended periods walking and standing throughout a manufacturing facility.

- Ability to wear required PPE.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing environments.
