Job summary

Henderson Building Solutions is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support mission critical projects in Washington, D.C. The role assists in implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with safety standards across assigned projects.

You will work with Safety Managers and Specialists to coordinate training, track incidents, prepare reports, and reinforce a strong safety culture on active jobsites, while ensuring effective communication and timely safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, construction management, or related field preferred; other related degree programs or equivalent considered.
• Experience supporting safety audits, inspections, or reporting preferred; familiarity with construction process and jobsite environment preferred.
• OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification required, or ability to obtain within defined timeframe.
• Basic understanding of construction safety practices and regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively in a field environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures on assigned projects.
• Supports jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification activities.
• Monitors jobsites for compliance with safety standards and reports findings to safety leadership.
• Maintains accurate safety documentation, including reports, logs, and inspection records.
• Supports enforcement of PPE requirements.
• Communicates potential safety concerns with Safety Specialists and Managers.
• Observes jobsite activities and escalates unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Assists with coordination of safety-related activities on jobsites.
• Gathers information and assists with safety planning and training sessions.
• Participates in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project kickoff activities.
• Assists in gathering information and documentation related to safety incidents and incident reports.
