Job summary

A construction firm located in Indianapolis is looking for a Safety Coordinator to manage and enforce safety programs across projects. This role requires 5-10 years of experience in safety within the construction industry, including 3+ years in Industrial, Cast-In-Place, and Commercial settings. The ideal candidate should possess an OSHA 30 Certification, strong knowledge of construction methods, and excellent interpersonal skills. Qualifications

• 5-10 years of safety experience in construction or similar industry.
• 3+ years in Industrial, Cast-In-Place, and Commercial construction required.
• OSHA 30 Certification is mandatory.
• Comfortable working with all levels of leadership.
• MUST want to be in the field, not behind a desk
• Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows

Responsibilities

• Manage and enforce safety programs on job sites.
• Conduct safety training and orientation for new employees.
• Perform regular job site inspections and document findings.
• Investigate accidents and incidents on job sites.
• Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
• Collaborate with foremen on means/methods for performing HRA work (excavations, fall protection, heavy equipment, etc.).
• Monitor LOTO, pipe testing procedures.
• Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all regulations (OSHA) and Wilhelm policies.
• Conduct daily and/or weekly job site inspections.
• Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
• Investigate, corroborate, document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
• Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies and laws.
• Complete site walks at least 3 - 4 times per day.

Responsibilities

• As a Safety Coordinator, your key responsibility will be to manage and enforce Wilhelm's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Wilhelm's safety program, the Safety Coordinator shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.
• Education
• Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meeting" and document content and attendance.
• Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
• Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guideline
• Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations

• Investigate, corroborate, document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
• Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
• Complete site walks at least 3 - 4 times per day.
